Health

Many foster pets go out because they are too young or under socialized to be placed for adoption. Despite the relative good health of many cats and dogs as they enter foster – many may become ill while in a volunteer’s care.

If you are a foster parent requiring medical assistance please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 312.645.8040 to schedule an appointment with an available veterinarian.

For more resources for the health of cats and dogs visit the Health section of our official website.

Below is a collection of suggestions from foster parents who have cared for sick pets.

Please note that pet owners should consult with their veterinarian before implementing any of the techniques or tips found within the pages below.
